Navigating Through Our Digital Nightmare: The Rebuilding Begins
In a world where our lives are increasingly online, we've been reminded of the darker corners of the digital landscape in the most harrowing way possible.
Our journey over the day has been one from disbelief to mobilization, stemming from the alarming realization that our accounts—my personal page, our 10 groups, and even my local community groups—had not just been compromised, but sold.

From what we've pieced together, this cyber onslaught took our digital presence on a whirlwind tour from Pakistan to Vietnam, finally landing in Morocco.
In a desperate bid to reclaim what was ours, we were faced with demands for payment in cryptocurrency—a form of extortion we were wisely counseled by the FBI to refuse. This decision, while tough, marked the beginning of our counteroffensive.
Our response has been multi-faceted: from dialogues with law enforcement agencies, including phone calls with both the police and the FBI, to legal maneuvers aimed at regaining control and safeguarding our rights. A
formal demand letter was dispatched to Facebook's attorneys, laying bare our grievances and demanding justice. Given the theft of our name, photos, logos, and cherished photography, a copyright infringement notice had to be issued, marking our first step toward reasserting our digital identity.
In this digital age, the theft of such assets isn't just about the content itself—it's personal. These aren't mere bytes of data but extensions of our work, hopes, and community spirit; a spirit that, despite these attacks, remains unbroken.
Refusing to negotiate with cybercriminals, we opted instead to start anew. Please join us on this journey:

Acknowledging the unsettling reality that the hackers are beyond domestic legal reach, we've not resigned ourselves to defeat. My daughter has been in contact with the cryptocurrency bank to dispute the malicious claim, a move that, while limited by international boundaries, underscores our commitment to fight back on every front.
As a precautionary measure—and one I never foresaw needing to take—I am in the process of shutting down all our banking arrangements and credit cards, and placing alerts on our credit reports. Though it feels like we're battening down the hatches, it's a necessary step to protect our future from further intrusions.
This ordeal has been nothing short of a nightmare. Yet, it's in these moments of adversity that the strength of our community shines brightest. Your support has been the silver lining in this saga. The road ahead is undoubtedly long and fraught with challenges, but together, I believe we can and will rebuild stronger.
In closing, let this serve as a reminder to us all about the fragility of our digital existence and the imperative to safeguard it. While we may have been victims this time, our response—steeped in resilience and community—writes a different story; one not of defeat, but of determination and hope.
Thank You For Bearing With Us.
