Denim Drama: My Quest for the Ultimate Jeans

Hey babes, guess what?! I took myself on a little Nordstrom odyssey because my denim drawer has been screaming for an update.
Carrying all my weight in my stomach due to PCOS and having lost 160lbs can sometimes be challenging to find jeans that fit right.
You know the feeling, right? There's this need for new jeans that fit just right, like a hug in all the right places. 😘👖
So there I was, in the fitting room, surrounded by piles of high-end denim. We're talking a hefty price tag average of $258 a pop—yeah, I know! I too was expecting those jeans to straight up transform me into a goddess or something.
I mean, come on, for that kind of cash, I want to at least look like I dropped by Pilates class 3 x a week.
The lineup was quite the who's who of denim: Paige, Mother, Agolde, Liverpool, Daze, Good American, Rag & Bone... pretty much a battle royale of the jean genies.
First up: Paige High Rise Ankle Leenah

These were like the smooth talkers of jeans. Sleek, a little sassy, but did they really understand the assignment?
Hmm... they got a C- the denim didn’t feel any different than other less expensive jeans I own. I tried the charming distress. We liked the inseam and the hem but felt it wasn’t worth the tag. They were acting all sweet, but honey, we need more than charm to win this booty over.
I tried these on in a size 29 which is equivalent to an 8 so they fit true to size.
These go up to a size 34 waist and run about $249, shop here.
Now, the Good American Good Curve Straight

Hugging these curves with a 28” inseam that was giving me just enough ankle action. But I didn’t love the overall feel of the denim, I felt they made my stomach area look bigger.
I tried these on in a size 29 which is equivalent to an 8 so they fit true to size.
These go up to a size 22 plus and run about $139; shop here.
Liverpool LA Marley Girlfriend Cuffed Eco

Cruisin' in at a 28/6, talking all that eco-friendly jazz. Love the earth, but do these jeans love me back? We liked the cuff hem which you can roll up or down but didn’t feel the wash was flattering.
I tried these on in a size 28 which is equivalent to an 6 so they fit true to size or could be sized down in.
These go up to a size 16 and run around $98; shop here.
Daze Denim Shy Girl High Rise Crop Flare

These jeans were giving me the 'I only listen to vinyl' vibe. Quirky, crop flair, but shy? Please, we need confident denim here! We liked the distressed hem but didn’t feel the fit was overall flattering.
I tried these on in a size 30 which is equivalent to an 10 so you would need to size up 1-2 sizes (they are more equivalent to junior sizing).
These go up to a size 31 waist and run about $88: shop here.
Mother Button Fly Tomcat Big Hair Don't Care

Now, hold onto your lattes, gals, because guess who strutted out like Beyoncé at Coachella?
Mother! Yes! The denim was soft as a puppy, structured like it was custom-made for MY curves, snatching that waist and giving the peach an applause-worthy lift! 🎉
I tried these on in a size 30 which is equivalent to a 10; so I would suggest sizing up 1x depending on your level of comfort or buying your size and letting them stretch naturally.
The Tomcat Flood High Waist Ankle Straight Leg Jeans they’re around $258 but sometimes you can find them on sale for around $180. They go up to a size 34 waist (size 18 women’s); Shop here.
The Champagne Pop: Mother Denim Swept the Floor!

Who knew, right? 'Big Hair Don't Care' not only came through with the name but served full attitude.
My tummy? Those Mother jeans knew just how to hold it, like the secret keeper of all those indulgent brunches.
With the fit, the feel, the construction... let's just say, for the first time, that price tag seemed worth every freakin' penny.
