A Sky-High Experience: Our Stay Near the Disney Skyliner

Disney World is a realm of enchantment, filled with whimsical rides, captivating characters, and magical moments that create lifelong memories. But for many of us navigating the sprawling parks and resorts, especially with young children or elderly family members, can feel less than magical at times.
On our recent Disney World adventure, we discovered a fantastic solution that elevated our experience—quite literally—thanks to our close proximity to the Disney Skyliner.
Choosing the Right Resort: A Tactical Decision
Our home base for this journey was the vibrant and animated Art of Animation Resort, known for immersing guests in the worlds of classic Disney and Pixar films.
Before booking, we had one request: to be placed in a room closer to the Disney Skyliner. We knew this newest addition to the park’s transportation could be a game-changer, allowing us swift and effortless travel to some of Disney’s key locations.
A Request with a View
While the request for specific room placement near the Skyliner isn’t always honored due to availability, we were one of the lucky families.
This strategic positioning proved invaluable, significantly cutting down on the trekking our 'little legs' and 'tired adult feet' would have otherwise endured.
Disney Skyliner: Our Magic Carpet Ride

The Disney Skyliner is a state-of-the-art gondola system that feels like something straight out of a fairytale. Gliding across the sky, it connects various points within the Walt Disney World Resort, including:
Disney's Hollywood Studios
Disney's Art of Animation Resort
Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort
Disney's Pop Century Resort
Disney's Riviera Resort
What’s more, the Skyliner station at the International Gateway at EPCOT is just a short stroll from the Disney's BoardWalk entertainment district and nearby resorts.
This access not only afforded us unparalleled views of the Disney landscape but allowed us to effortlessly hop between parks and experiences, bypassing the usual waits associated with ground transportation.
A Note on Bus Transportation
During our visit, Disney World was experiencing a significant shortage of bus drivers, with services running at about 50% capacity. This meant longer waits for buses to the parks, often requiring 2-3 rounds of buses passing before we could board.
The Skyliner, therefore, became not just a convenience but a necessity, ensuring we spent our time immersed in the magic of Disney, rather than waiting for transport.
Final Thoughts: Sky High and Down to Earth

For families planning their Disney World adventure, especially those with young children or anyone who prefers minimizing unnecessary walking, a stay at one of the Skyliner connected resorts comes highly recommended. The convenience and efficiency it brings to the Disney experience are unparalleled.
It’s a reminder that sometimes, the best way to navigate the world of Disney isn’t on the ground but in the sky. The Disney Skyliner doesn't just transport you from point A to B; it lifts the entire experience, making every journey between destinations an adventure in itself.
Our stay near the Skyliner allowed us to see and do more, all while keeping our energy levels high and our spirits even higher. For that reason, it's a choice we’d make again in a heartbeat, a small detail in the planning stage that made all the difference in our magical vacation.
